This wasn’t Plan A, but circumstances beyond our control resulted in Lisa, our ageing V2G R&D Nissan LEAF, making a return trip to Bristol Airport over the last couple of days. Here is a Twitter thread revealing what she discovered en route:

I phoned "support" to be be told that a visit by an engineer was required. Needless to say I asked when that might happen, not least because we'd be making the return journey tomorrow. They couldn't say.

The staff in the shop assured me this had been the case for weeks.

The 3rd circle of #EVHell?

I was instructed to login, but couldn't. Also the app provided no means to register a new account. @HubstaUK suggested trying their web site. No luck on the mobile version either. @westonrecovery kindly let me use a PC, but no joy there also…

A good look at @zap_map suggested a nearby @bppulseuk rapid was both (a) working and (b) vacant.

We hurried over to discover (b) had already changed and it had started to rain. The next door Kia was on AC, so I made another call to support to ask about simultaneous DC…

That was the 5th circle of #EVHell, but our misery was almost over! Another look at @zap_map and we headed off to the @OspreyCharging installation at Weston's #LandingLight pub.

No app needed. Tap a credit card. #LisaTheLEAF's last blue charging light started blinking😌

Consulting @zap_map again we plumped on a quick top up at #Collumpton Services, which was shown as (a) working and (b) unoccupied.

By the time we arrived there we'd descended to the 6th circle of #EVHell.

a == true. b == false

We consulted @zap_map once again…

On the road again I was in the passenger seat. With the #Okehampton and #Lifton rapids "out of service" our final top up of the evening was back at the @TheRedLionInnT1 in #Tedburn.

The pub was still open & we popped in to keep warm. I ordered a swift 1/2 of #Tribute…

Then I noticed that some @Huntscider was also available. Not having had a drink in a pub for many a month I then ordered a 1/2 of their #Wobbler.

Hence when we started the last leg of journey back to #Kernow #LisaTheLEAF was full to overflowing:
